Wedding Film Industry Research

GENRE, STYLE & NICHE MARKET OF INTEREST

There are many ways to film a wedding as it depends on the length of the event, budgets, location and time; the filming’s methods vary.
People recently follow the trends that make their wedding video cinematic, custom- detail. Some might want their video same-day edited or ceremony love story. People want to make wedding videos the same with an excellent service in which customer can receive their product fast, convenient and affordable. Also, people love to see their wedding shot from drone which is getting easier to access for filmmakers.

Common wedding film styles commonly range from documentary to cinematic. Besides, there are some special styles such as “Concept Videos”, “Highlight”,” Short Form wedding”. The style is different based on how it is shot, edited and colored.
Cinematic style requires a lot of creative angles, slow motion edit pace, appealing visual effect as well as good flow to tell a good story. On the other hand, the documentary is much simpler, but it focuses more on pure stories and subjects around the story. Therefore, interview, presenter usually appear in the documentary.

I was influenced by many famous talented filmmakers such as White in Revery, Matt Johnson, Rick Pendergraft & Jason Magbanua. They have become very famous thanks to their unique style. These filmmakers come from all around the world, some from busy cities, some from beautiful countryside. So, their videos have different vibes but overall their storytelling technique is outstanding. The color from the video is so pop and moody. They might have the same color thorough out several of their videos, so it ‘s unique whenever I saw that color it will remind me of him.

My favorite wedding video by White in Revery

I love them because of their music choice and how they combine it into the interview, from there they can tell the love story better.
For me, they are successful because not only because their dedicated works, but also how they approach the clients They share they might work with the couple many days before the actual wedding day to understand their story, client’s personality as well as their expectation. Some filmmakers show their care by giving gifts or special wedding money box so that clients can feel their dedication and might shout out them in clients’ social media. From there, their reputation goes further and further.

To achieve the level like these pro filmmakers, I will try to improve my color grading in different tones and moods. Besides, framing and motion of the video are quite important so I want to enhance my continuity in a movement when composing. The angles and depth of fields will make the subject more appealing so I will try to implement a different angle to understand how it can help to improve my film.
Using social media like Instagram or Youtube to show my video and increase the interaction between me and my clients/future clients.
